On Monday, July 12, 2010 the commercial court of Paris, following the court litigation between Georgian Public Broadcaster and Eutelsat, the European satelite operator, has issued the final verdict which did not meet the expectations of GPB.

Eutelsat has unexpectedly blocked the broadcasting of the First Caucasus on the satelite. The First Caucasus is the russian language information channel which is not controlled by Kremlin regime.

GPB is deeply dissatisfied by the decision of the Court and belives that the verdict is groundless and unfair.

Georgian Public Broadcaster is considering the possibility of appealing the above decision shortly. GPB continues developing the First Caucasus channel and anticipates resuming the broadcasting in the nearest future.
