Emzar Goguadze Accuses Irakli Tripolsky of Pressure

Publish Time 2013-10-04 13:50:00

Emzar Goguadze, Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) accuses Irakli Tripolsky, Majority MP, of pressure.

Goguadze claims that during a meeting in Khashuri town, the MP had asked him to resign and dismantle the board.

Also as Goguadze says, pressure was exerted against Avtandil Antidze, who has applied to parliament with his wish to quit the board.

Goguadze asserts that Antidze was visited in hospital and was proposed a highly-paid job in return to quitting the position.

Chairman of GPB’s Board of Trustees presumes that the purpose of pressure was to disrupt a competition announced on post of GPB’s General Director. Tripolsky denied allegations and called them ‘absurd.’

Two members of Board of Trustees have applied to the parliament with request to leave posts. In this case, the board will be declared as impotent and it will lose the right to make decisions.
