A new draft-bill was prepared by the parliament in course of the crisis around Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB).
According to the proposed changes as registered by the bureau, the Board of Trustees will consist of 2 chambers.
A monitoring Council will be staffed by old members of the board. It will monitor the new board, General Director of GPB and will have the right to make decisions about TV budget. The council will be also authorized to raise responsibility of GPB’s General Director.

The draft-bill will be discussed at Parliamentary Committee of Education and Science today. Making of changes became necessary after Constitutional Court restored authorities to 7 acting members of GPB’s old Board of Trustees in parallel to process of staffing of new board by the parliament.
