Lizi Ramishvili to take part in the first semi-final of EYM

The Georgian representative for the 2012 Eurovision Young Musicians (EYM) , Lizi Ramishvili will take part in the first semi-final of the Contest, to take place on May 5. Lizi Ramishvili is qualified as number 2 to perform on stage. 

The 2012 Eurovision Young Musicians will be held in Vienna, Austria on the 5th, 6th (Semi Finals) and 11th (Final) of May. The Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF) is the Host Broadcaster of the contest. 

Solo candidates, aged under 20 in the year of the competition, will compete in a preliminary Semi-Final round, out of which the 7 best will be selected by an international jury to perform live as finalists in the show at the Rathausplatz (Vienna City Hall Square). The seven finalists will be accompanied by the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of young German conductor Cornelius Meister. 

A total of 14 countries have submitted applications to take part in this year's Eurovision Young Musicians competition. Among the participants are four nations making their débuts: Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia and Ukraine, all who will take part for the first time. 

The Eurovision Young Musicians (EYM) competition has run biennially since 1982. It is an international classical music event aiming to offer the widest possible stage to young talented classical musicians, to help them embark on an international career.
